Job summary

Nuro is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, implement, and test safety-critical embedded software for multicore automotive microcontrollers. You will work across RTOS, drivers, and middleware, integrating the Nuro Driver with new vehicle platforms on public roads.

You will collaborate with systems, safety, hardware and autonomy teams, contributing to bring-up, verification, and ISO 26262 compliant development processes. 2+ years of embedded C experience is required.

Qualifications

• B.S. or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• 2+ years of industry experience developing embedded software in C, including work on a real-time operating system.
• Solid computer science fundamentals: data structures, concurrency and algorithm design.
• Working knowledge of microcontroller internals and peripherals, with depth in at least one of device driver development, CAN or automotive Ethernet, bootloaders and software update, embedded security, or vehicle-level integration and test.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and test embedded C software for safety-critical multicore automotive microcontrollers, including RTOS, drivers, scheduling, and bootloader.
• Integrate the Nuro Driver with new vehicle platforms: CAN and Ethernet interfaces with OEM ECUs, and validate on bench and in vehicle.
• Hands-on device and vehicle bring-up, prototyping and debugging on multiple vehicle platforms.
