Job summary

Nuro is seeking an experienced mechanical designer to join our Autonomous Vehicle Hardware team. You will own the research, design, and delivery of hardware that enables the Nuro Driver system across platforms and use cases.

You will work with vehicle partners, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to ensure scalable, safe, and cost-effective hardware from concept to production. Experience with CAD and a range of manufacturing processes is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in mechanical design with electro-mechanical hardware.
• Experience from prototyping to mass production in a production environment.
• Experience with a range of manufacturing processes (rapid prototyping, sheet metal, molding, machining, casting).
• Proficient in CAD with UG NX familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Own the engineering design, development, and release of autonomous hardware for the Nuro Driver.
• Lead integration with vehicle partners to meet performance requirements.
• Collaborate across teams to develop sensing and electronics architecture for mass deployment.
• Benchmark performance, integration, and reliability of electronics technologies.
• Identify and manage suppliers to move ideas from concept to production readiness.
• Manage parts through proof-of-concept validation up to production readiness.
• Drive part quality improvements, cost reductions, and efficiency improvements.
• Communicate technical decisions and plans to management.
