Job summary

Waabi is seeking an Electrical Distribution Technician to install, integrate, and validate power systems for autonomous truck platforms. You will work closely with mechanical and software engineers to translate requirements into robust wiring architectures, troubleshoot faults, and build automotive-grade harnesses for prototypes and production units.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical/Electronics Technology, Automotive Technology, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with automotive or industrial electrical distribution systems, wiring harness build, or related work
  • Proficient reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Working knowledge of low‑voltage vehicle electrical systems; experience with 12V/24V/high‑voltage automotive systems a plus
  • Familiarity with NEC/NFPA 70E or equivalent electrical safety standards
  • Hands‑on experience with hand tools, power tools, torque tools, crimping tools, and test equipment (multimeters, continuity testers, oscilloscopes)
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced prototype/build environment with evolving requirements

Responsibilities

  • Install, integrate, and validate electrical distribution systems across sensor, compute, and actuation modules on autonomous truck platforms
  • Work with mechanical and software teams to translate power and signal requirements into distribution architecture
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults, shorts, and wiring issues on prototype and production vehicles
  • Build, test, and repair wiring harnesses to automotive-grade standards
  • Support basic mechanical assembly tasks related to electrical system integration
  • Ensure electrical systems meet reliability and safety requirements for on-road use
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and harness drawings
  • Maintain documentation of builds, test results, and issue resolution using PLM/document control tools
  • Diagnose and drive resolution of technical issues with cross-functional engineering teams
