Job summary

AutoNation is seeking an Advanced Autonomous Vehicle Technician in Nashville to perform complex diagnostics, repairs, and calibrations on AV powertrains, sensors, and compute hardware. You will verify system performance, support software and hardware integrations, and assist with field testing.

Join a team that emphasizes safety, collaboration with engineering and operations, and hands-on training. This on-site role requires 3–5+ years in automotive/EV/AV tech and the ability to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of automotive/EV/AV technician experience.
  • Strong diagnostic experience with mechanical and electrical vehicle systems.
  • Hands-on experience with sensor systems (LiDAR, radar, cameras) and computer hardware.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic software, scan tools, and electrical testing equipment.
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and engineering docs.
  • CAN/LIN tools experience preferred.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs and work in field environments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced diagnostics and repair on AV powertrain, braking, suspension, and high-voltage systems.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in CAN/LIN networks and AV compute hardware.
  • Calibrate LiDAR, radar, cameras, GPS, IMUs and perception systems.
  • Install, configure, and replace AV components; assist with software deployments and data extraction.
  • Support on-road and controlled testing; provide real-time troubleshooting and incident response.
  • Document repairs and calibrations; contribute to continuous improvement; mentor technicians.
