Job summary

AutoNation is seeking an Autonomous Vehicle Technician to diagnose and repair electric autonomous vehicles, ensuring safety and reliability. You’ll inspect, test, document repairs, and collaborate with teammates in a positive growth environment.

This full-time role requires automotive experience, EV knowledge preferred, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to operate vehicles and tools. Competitive benefits and ample advancement opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two or more years of automotive experience.
  • Ability to work weekends.
  • Electric Vehicle experience is a plus.
  • Hybrid or EV training and experience a plus.
  • Automotive technical training.
  • Have tools.
  • Must have a valid in-state driver’s license with a safe driving record.
  • Ability to operate an automobile.

Responsibilities

  • Performing maintenance, diagnosis, and required repairs on electric vehicles.
  • Inspecting and performing initial vehicle setup for autonomous fleet operation and testing.
  • Collaborating with AutoNation and partner associates to improve processes and expedite workflow.
  • Document requested repairs and findings in a specialized service platform.
  • Performing high quality repairs and inspections efficiently and accurately.
  • Conducting multi-point inspections and system checks, making recommendations to ensure safety and reliability of fleet vehicles.
  • Provide guidance to technician team and communicate with Associates regarding service and parts needs.
  • Performing all repairs according to work instructions and documenting results.
  • Operate all equipment safely and productively following AutoNation Safety Standards.
  • Inspect and test all work as a QC measure after completion.
  • Maintain inventory of technician tools not normally inventoried by Service Department.
  • Keep abreast of technical information and participate in training classes.
  • Understand and follow regulations affecting Service Center operations (hazardous waste disposal, OSHA, etc).
  • Gaining superior product knowledge to provide high-quality repairs.
