Job summary

Waabi in Dallas is hiring a maintenance technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair Waabi’s Class 8 autonomous trucking fleet. You will work the night shift, 11pm–7:30am, supporting safe operation and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems, performing repairs per guidelines, and maintaining accurate records. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and technical certification, with ASE preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
• Experience as technician or mechanic; ASE cert desirable.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving for electrical and mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with truck maintenance and repair.
• Familiarity with autonomous driving tech incl. sensors and onboard computer systems.
• Proficient with diagnostic tools and equipment for vehicle maintenance.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and travel as needed.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to procedures.
• Open-minded and collaborative, willing to help others.
• Passionate about self-driving tech and innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of Waabi Class 8 fleet to ensure performance and safety.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle electrical and mechanical issues.
• Perform repairs and replacements of faulty components per Waabi guidelines.
• Collaborate with teams to provide feedback on issues and assist in new features.
• Maintain records of maintenance, repairs, and parts inventory.
• Provide technical support to truck operators on systems and procedures.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations for autonomous vehicles.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
• Support Waabi’s safety culture.
