Job summary

Textron Specialized Vehicles Inc. in Augusta, GA is seeking an engineer to develop localization, navigation, and control for autonomous vehicles. You will work on GNSS/RTK, LiDAR, IMU, and sensor fusion to enable robust autonomous operation.

You will implement behavior planning, motion planning, and vehicle control, optimize embedded performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define features and requirements, while supporting field testing and deployment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Software Engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Python and C++ with ROS2 experience.
  • Experience with autonomous navigation and field testing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain vehicle localization architecture using GNSS/RTK, LiDAR, visual localization, inertial navigation, and sensor fusion.
  • Develop behavior planning, motion planning, and vehicle control algorithms for autonomous navigation.
  • Optimize computational performance, latency, and resources on embedded platforms.
  • Develop and maintain system requirements, interface specifications, and validation plans.
  • Integrate autonomous hardware and software with vehicle electrical, controls, and sensor systems.
  • Support field testing and debugging to ensure reliability in real-world conditions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leads to define features and product requirements.
