Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Systems Engineer II to collaborate with the Design team on a range of unmanned systems for defense and commercial use. The role involves MBSE approaches, fault analysis, and prototyping across stages from requirements to validation.

You will work with Controls Engineers to allocate requirements, develop architectures, and drive simulation models. 2–5 years in systems engineering is expected with C/C++ and MATLAB familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in engineering/science or equivalent required.
• 2–5 years of systems engineering experience (Aerospace preferred).
• Familiarity with C/C++ and MATLAB required.
• Familiarity with office software and productivity tools.
• Interest in Architectures using Model Based Engineering tools.

Responsibilities

• Support system development progress with requirements burn down and subsystems coordination.
• Evaluate system performance thresholds and provide direction.
• Develop instrumented flight test vectors and data acquisition.
• Define system Build in Test for fault detection and recovery.
• Prototype autonomous systems and validate designs via designed experiments.
• Write system requirements, test plans, and assist validation testing.
• Document work and transition capabilities into production environments.
