Job summary

Randstad Digital Americas in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support the development, integration, validation, and deployment of autonomous machine technologies for heavy equipment applications.

The role collaborates with product development, software, hardware, and validation teams to deliver reliable autonomous solutions. Knowledge of CAN and Ethernet, plus experience with construction/mining equipment, is highly preferred.

Qualifications

Experience supporting autonomous machines or autonomous systems in product development.
Experience integrating software and hardware for production-level autonomous solutions.
Collaboration with systems integration and validation teams during engineering development.
Hands-on validation of software and hardware in lab and on-machine environments.
Experience with CAN and Ethernet communications in systems.
Strong understanding of autonomous systems and centralized control architectures.
Experience supporting production products through design, implementation, and customer rollout.

Responsibilities

Support the design, development, integration, testing, and deployment of autonomous machine systems.
Collaborate with software, hardware, systems integration, and validation teams across the product lifecycle.
Integrate and validate software and hardware solutions in lab and on-machine environments.
Translate customer and product requirements into actionable system and technical requirements.
Develop and document system requirements, specifications, and design decisions.
Perform system-level troubleshooting and identify software, hardware, and integration issues.
Support autonomous products through design, implementation, customer rollout, and production support.
Evaluate system performance and propose technical improvements.
Communicate technical concepts and tradeoffs to engineering teams and stakeholders.
Use data and evidence to support engineering recommendations and align stakeholders.
Coordinate with teams to define scope, timelines, and implementation needs.
Stay current on autonomous systems and related industries.
