About the Role
We are looking for a Autonomous Systems Engineer to serve as the engineering interface between autonomous hauling application teams and base-machine systems teams. You will support the integration of autonomy hardware and software with base-machine systems for next-generation autonomous mining equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with autonomy and base-machine systems teams on architecture and feature requirements.
- Decompose and develop system/software requirements and technical documentation.
- Coordinate software changes and releases for autonomous hauling programs.
- Support hardware-in-the-loop, proving-ground, and field testing.
- Develop verification plans, test cases, operating procedures, and safety documentation.
- Support field data collection kits, including design, procurement, and deployment.
- Troubleshoot integrated hardware/software issues.
- Participate in application software and algorithm development for robotic platforms.
- Collaborate with technical program managers, application architects, and global engineering teams.
Required Qualifications
- 5-7 years of professional engineering experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science from an accredited institution.
- Experience planning and executing software/system testing.
- Strong programming and debugging skills.
- Advanced technical troubleshooting experience.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
- Self-starter with strong teamwork and communication skills.
Preferred Experience
- Autonomous vehicles, robotics, or intelligent machine systems.
- Controls engineering or base-machine systems.
- AI/machine learning applications.
- Application development tools and software integration.
- Field testing, proving-ground testing, or heavy equipment environments.
