Job summary

J&O Plastics Inc. in Rittman, OH, seeks a hands-on Production Supervisor for the 2nd or 3rd shift to lead an injection molding team. You will own the people, decisions, execution, and output of your shift, operating with autonomy while ensuring safety and quality.

The role requires experience leading manufacturing teams, coordinating 45 presses, and delivering on-time production with continuous improvement. A strong safety culture is essential.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of manufacturing leadership, team-lead, or production supervision experience.
• Experience applying 5S, Lean, standard work, visual management.
• Familiarity with root-cause methods (5-Why, 8D, DMAIC, fishbone).
• Strong communication, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct injection molding production across 45 presses on the assigned shift.
• Execute the production schedule and adapt to priority changes.
• Assign employees based on needs, qualifications, staffing, and machine requirements.
• Monitor output, cycle time, downtime, scrap, and quality in real time.
• Perform mold changes and changeovers to established setup standards.
• Escalate issues to the appropriate authority with clear ownership.
