Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Software Engineer for the OISL Star Tracker team. You will design and evolve embedded flight software for satellites, spanning low-level drivers to autonomous decision-making in Linux environments.

You will architect fault-tolerant systems, build validation and simulation tools, and own full lifecycle delivery from requirements to in-orbit deployment, collaborating with hardware, systems, and operations teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience.
• C and/or C++ with memory management and deterministic execution on embedded devices.
• Experience with Linux-based development, cross-compilers, and test frameworks.
• Experience with Python for test automation or tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize flight software for Star Tracker systems on Linux.
• Architect and implement fault-tolerant, redundant software with autonomous recovery.
• Build test, validation, and simulation infrastructure including HIL/SIL.
• Own end-to-end embedded software delivery from requirements to deployment.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems, and operations teams to deploy high-speed optical comms.
