Job summary

Amazon LEO Optical Inter-Satellite Link team seeks a Software Development Engineer to design and implement embedded flight software for a constellation of satellites. You will work across low-level drivers to high-level autonomous behaviors, ensuring reliable communications and robust fault management in orbit.

You will collaborate with hardware, optics, and mission operations, build testbeds, perform hardware-in-the-loop validation, and own OTA deployment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
• Experience in embedded development in C/C++
• Experience writing low level drivers
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize flight software for optical inter-satellite link systems
• Architect fault-tolerant software across satellites with health monitoring and autonomous recovery
• Build and maintain test, validation, and simulation infrastructure
• Own the full lifecycle of embedded software delivery for satellites in orbit
• Collaborate with hardware, optics, systems, and operations teams
• Drive OTA update processes for hundreds of satellites with minimal risk
• Lead board bring-up and BSP integration with peripheral connectivity
