Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC in Redmond seeks a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain embedded flight software for space-based optical links. You will build fault-tolerant systems, run hardware-in-the-loop tests, and collaborate with hardware, optics, and operations teams to push the boundaries of space networking.

The role emphasizes end-to-end software ownership, real-time control, and autonomous recovery capabilities for a large satellite constellation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture of systems.
• Experience in embedded development in C/C++ and writing low-level drivers.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize reliable flight software for optical inter-satellite links.
• Architect and implement fault-tolerant, redundant software systems across a satellite constellation.
• Build and maintain test, validation, and simulation infrastructure for space systems.
• Own full lifecycle of embedded software delivery from requirements to maintenance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy high-speed optical communication systems.
• Drive OTA update processes ensuring safe and reliable satellite updates.
• Lead board bring-up and BSP integration for hardware/software coherence.
