West River Health Services is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide comprehensive care across all age groups. The position supports 24-40 hours per week, with autonomy and collaboration under physician supervision.

The role emphasizes broad clinical duties, preventive care, acute and chronic disease management, and a range of minor procedures in a primary care setting.

Qualifications

• Take a complete history and perform physical exams when appropriate.
• Provide autonomous and collaborative patient care under physician supervision.
• Hold ND PA or NDBON license with DEA and BLS/ACLS within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Take a complete history and perform exams including pelvic, rectal, and breast exams.
• Assess, diagnose, treat and manage acute and chronic health problems.
• Assess patient status via phone and document advice or medications prescribed.
• Order, conduct, supervise and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests.
• Prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies.
• Provide health promotion and counseling to individuals, families and groups.
• Perform minor procedures under supervision (e.g., suturing, wound care, immunizations).
• Assist primary care provider with continuum-of-care services and follow-up visits.
• Institute emergency measures for cardiac arrest, shock, hemorrhage, convulsions, poisonings and obstetric emergencies.
