Job summary

Ndimensions Labs in Boston, MA is seeking an AI engineer focused on robotics navigation to advance SLAM, path planning, and spatial reasoning for real-world robots. You will research and prototype novel approaches to enable autonomous navigation.

You will deploy navigation stacks on hardware, integrate with perception and planning modules, and collaborate with researchers to push the boundaries of robotic understanding and movement.

Qualifications

• Strong background in robotics navigation, SLAM, and autonomous systems.
• Experience with ROS/ROS2, Nav2, move_base, tf2.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python for real-time robotics software.
• Master's or PhD in Robotics or CS (or equivalent industry experience).
• Ability to read and extend results from research papers.
• Experience deploying navigation on real robots (not only simulation).
• Knowledge of linear algebra, optimization, probabilistic inference, and 3D geometry.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement SLAM systems for real-time mapping and localization.
• Develop navigation algorithms combining learned representations with geometric reasoning.
• Research neural implicit representations and foundation model-based scene understanding.
• Build and optimize path planning and motion planning pipelines for real-time hardware.
• Integrate navigation with perception, manipulation, and high-level planning.
• Design experiments and benchmarks to evaluate navigation across environments.
• Deploy and validate navigation stacks on physical robots, in simulation and real-world tests.
