Job summary

Applied Intuition seeks a Hardware Integration Engineer to work with the hardware team on buildout, testing, maintenance and improving fleet utilization for autonomous mining systems. You'll deploy the system to mining and construction vehicles on-site with customers, collaborating with Sunnyvale engineers and on-site teams.

The role requires 5+ years in mechanical/electrical or related fields, strong experience with AV components (Lidar/Radar/Camera), CAD, and hands-on hardware integration.

Qualifications

• BS in mechanical/electrical or related field is required.
• 5+ years of technical experience in mechanical, electrical, computer, mining or construction.
• Experience with AV components (Lidar, Radar, Camera).
• Experience with low-volume manufacturing in off-road domains.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and datasheets.
• Experience documenting assembly procedures and using diagnostic tools.
• Familiar with CAD design workflows (SolidWorks).
• Experience with CNC, machining, welding; automotive repair assumed.
• Nice-to-have: Python, ROS, Linux, microcontroller programming.

Responsibilities

• Be the subject matter expert for Applied’s autonomous mining system.
• Own deployment of integrated autonomous systems on mining/construction vehicles at customer sites.
• Own fleet reliability; triage and issue resolution at customer sites.
• Design, prototype and install proof-of-concept sensor systems.
• Lead build-out through delivery, bring-up and shakedown testing.
• Design and build test benches for mechanical, electrical, embedded and software systems.
• Develop and maintain vehicle integration documentation.
• Troubleshoot vehicle systems and sensors with root-cause analysis.
• Minimize vehicle downtime with safety focus; work independently on evolving challenges.
