Job summary

Applied Intuition, Inc. seeks a Hardware Integration Engineer to deploy autonomous mining systems, lead on-site integration, and ensure fleet reliability. You will work with hardware engineers and operators, designing and testing vehicle integrations and documentation.

This role focuses on on-site customer deployments at mining and construction sites, with direct collaboration with Sunnyvale teams and field technicians. Strong mechanical/electrical background and hands-on testing are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical or related field.
• 5+ years of technical experience in mechanical, electrical, computer, mining or construction industries.
• Experience with AV components (lidars, radars, cameras).
• Experience with low-volume manufacturing in the off-road industry.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and datasheets.
• Experience documenting and maintaining assembly procedures.
• Experience using shop equipment and 3D printers.
• CAD familiarity (SolidWorks) is a plus.
• CNC, machining, metalworking and welding experience.
• Automotive repair and maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Be the subject matter expert for Applied’s autonomous mining system by building a deep familiarity with all aspects of the system.
• Work directly at customer sites to own the deployment of integrated autonomous systems onto mining and construction vehicles
• Own the fleet reliability and be first line of triage and issue resolution for issues found at the customer site
• Design, prototype, and install proof-of-concept systems and sensors for evaluation.
• Lead and support the vehicle from the build-out phase through delivery to our operations team, including final bring-up and shakedown testing
• Design and build test benches to validate mechanical, electrical, embedded and software systems.
• Develop and own documentation as it relates to vehicle integration.
• Troubleshooting vehicle systems, computer components and sensors with root cause analysis
• Minimize vehicle downtime while focusing on safety
• Work independently on high level dynamically evolving challenges
