Job summary
Genentech, a Roche subsidiary, seeks a technical leader for Lab Automation to own the physical execution platform architecture of the Autonomous Lab Accelerator. You will translate scientific workflows into scalable automation, integrate robotics and instruments, and partner with CS CoE on AI interfaces.
This role drives autonomous execution, operability, and reusable engineering standards. You will lead technical verification, mentor engineers, and collaborate across science, software, and ops
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, life sciences, or related discipline.
- Significant experience in designing, integrating, and deploying laboratory automation platforms.
- Strong Python and API-integration skills; experience connecting instruments to schedulers, databases, or LIMS/ELN.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end Physical Platform Architecture for the automated lab execution layer.
- Translate scientific requirements into automatable unit operations and platform interfaces.
- Lead selection, integration, and verification of robotics, instruments, and control layers.
- Ensure unattended execution capabilities and operational handoff with Lab Operations.
