Job summary

ASRC Federal Advanced Research is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to support autonomy vehicle integrations in Sterling Heights, Michigan. The role involves repairing and maintaining heavy equipment, documenting work, and supporting system integration including hydraulics, electronics and prototyping.

Travel up to 25% annually, with eligibility to obtain a Government Secret Clearance. This position is on-site with SCA pay type and a focus on defense-related vehicle platforms.

Qualifications

• Capable of standing all day and lifting 45 lbs.
• Willingness to travel CONUS and OCONUS 25% annually.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical services in repair and support for heavy equipment and vehicle systems.
• Document repairs/installations and effects on vehicle performance.
• Identify performance changes due to repairs or new systems.
• Support system integration requiring hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics, mechanics, fabrication and prototyping.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

2-year technical school/cipeline

Journeyman status or apprenticeship
