Job summary

Cullerton Group seeks a Systems Engineer 3 to validate autonomous haul truck software and hardware at a Tucson proving ground. You will plan and execute validation tests, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with software and validation teams to improve reliability and performance.

The role is onsite, 2nd shift, 24-month contract with full benefits. Travel up to 25% may occur, including Peoria, IL. Must be able to work hands-on with large industrial equipment outdoors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or CS or equivalent experience in control systems, vehicles, engines, or autonomous tech.
• 5-7 years of relevant experience, or 3+ years with a Master's degree.
• Experience with technical troubleshooting, software product testing, system validation, or complex equipment testing.
• Strong Windows proficiency and computer-based troubleshooting tools.
• Ability to investigate hardware/software issues, identify root causes, and implement fixes.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and execute system validation activities, test plans, procedures, and validation reports for autonomous haul truck software and control systems.
• Perform hands-on testing and troubleshooting of autonomous machine systems—hardware, software, network infrastructure, and supporting technologies.
• Investigate, reproduce, document, and troubleshoot complex software and system failures with engineering teams to identify root causes and verify actions.
• Support installation, configuration, integration, and QA of autonomous machine hardware and software; monitor performance and suggest improvements.
• Analyze testing data and benchmark system performance; collaborate to improve reliability and release readiness.
