Job summary

Granger Construction is seeking a field-based Assistant Project Engineer Intern for paid hands-on experience across Lansing, MI sites. You will support project managers and field teams with documentation, scheduling, and daily coordination.

You will review drawings, track progress with daily logs and deliveries, and participate in on-site meetings to observe problem-solving and decision-making. You’ll assist in RFIs and submittals while learning safety and logistics practices.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in building construction management, civil engineering, or related field.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work full-time.

Responsibilities

• Assist project documentation, scheduling, and coordination of daily activities.
• Review drawings and specifications to ensure alignment with project goals and standards.
• Track and document project progress including daily logs and material deliveries.
• Participate in on-site meetings to gain exposure to real-time problem-solving.
• Assist in preparing RFIs and submittals to meet milestones.
• Contribute to maintaining on-site safety by observing conditions.
• Engage with subcontractors and suppliers, supporting procurement and logistics.
