Job summary

Granger Construction invites you to join our internship program as a Field‑based Assistant Project Engineer Intern. You’ll support project managers and field teams with documentation, scheduling, and daily activity coordination while gaining hands‑on exposure to real projects.

You’ll review drawings, track progress, participate in on‑site meetings, help prepare RFIs and submittals, and contribute to site safety and procurement efforts.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in building construction management, civil engineering, or related field.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with leadership by example.
• Proactive problem solving and self-starter mentality.
• Ability to meet deadlines with a strong work ethic.
• Willingness to learn new software and adapt to project workflows.
• Availability to work full-time during internship.

Responsibilities

• Support project managers and field teams by assisting in project documentation, scheduling, and coordination of daily activities.
• Review project drawings and specifications to ensure alignment with project goals and compliance with industry standards.
• Track and document project progress, including daily logs, material deliveries, and work completed.
• Participate in on-site meetings to gain exposure to real-time problem-solving and decision-making.
• Assist in the preparation of RFIs (Requests for Information) and submittals to ensure project milestones are met.
• Contribute to maintaining project safety standards by observing and reporting on-site conditions.
• Engage with subcontractors and suppliers, supporting procurement and logistics activities.
