Wayve is seeking an Autonomous Driving Forensics Engineer to join the Detectives team in London. You will investigate root causes across the AV stack, test solutions, and provide actionable insights to improve performance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years working with complex robotics, autonomous systems or comparable engineered systems.
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving for robotics and AI systems.
• A systems-thinking mindset spanning hardware, software and models.
• Experience designing real-world experiments to prove hypotheses.
• Strong communication to explain complex problems to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Python experience for data analysis and scripting for analytic use cases.
• Track record of influencing team and company direction.
• A safety-conscious mindset with attention to safety implications.

Responsibilities

• Issue investigation & root cause analysis across the full AV stack.
• Data analysis & communication using dashboards and visualisations.
• Cross-functional collaboration with engineering, model development and operations.
• Develop automated workflows and investigation playbooks.
• Simulation & testing to reproduce and debug issues.
• Provide investigative support across diverse problems as the fleet grows.
• Investigate on-road incidents and share lessons to strengthen safety culture.
