Job summary

Wayve is hiring an Autonomous Driving Forensics Engineer to investigate issues across the full AV stack, identify root causes, and provide actionable insight to improve performance. You will work across hardware, software, and models with engineers, robotists, and operations teams.

You will build automated workflows, run simulations, and participate in on-road incident analyses to strengthen safety culture and drive efficient testing cycles.

Qualifications

• 3+ years working with complex systems in robotics, autonomous vehicles, or comparable engineered systems.
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex issues.
• A systems-thinking mindset, comfortable investigating across the full stack: hardware, software, and models.
• Experience designing real-world experiments to prove or disprove hypotheses.
• Great communication skills, able to explain complex technical problems to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with writing Python for data analysis; scripts for diverse analytics tasks.

Responsibilities

• Triage on-road data and conduct deep dives into recurring issues to identify patterns across the fleet.
• Analyse data and communicate insights clearly using dashboards or visualisations.
• Work closely with engineering, model development, operations, and safety teams to reach a resolution.
• Develop automated workflows and investigation playbooks to improve turnaround time.
• Leverage simulation and offline tools to reproduce and debug issues, minimizing fleet resource use.
• Provide investigative and systems engineering support across a broad range of problems as the fleet grows.
• Investigate on-road incidents to derive lessons for safety culture.
