Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking an experienced Member of Technical Staff to architect autonomous AI Agents for Smart Manufacturing AI Pathfinding & Innovation.

You will design multi-step agents, orchestrate LLMs with internal APIs, and drive production-grade pipelines in the cloud and on Kubernetes. You will mentor engineers, profile workloads, and advance security controls to mitigate prompt-injection risk while pushing the performance limits of agentic systems in a fast-paced semiconductor

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant industry experience in large-scale data/ML pipelines and/or production AI systems.
• Experience optimizing inference engines (vLLM, TensorRT-LLM) for autonomous AI Agent workloads.
• Proficiency with Large Language Models (LLMs), including prompt engineering and function calling.
• Experience designing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines with embeddings and vector search.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, or CrewAI.
• Familiarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol) tools, plugins, and skills, and the A2A protocol.
• Strong scripting and programming skills; cloud environment development.
• Experience with Kubernetes for deploying AI Agents and scalable workloads.
• Knowledge of PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn; ML tooling and profiling.
• Ability to mentor engineers on agentic design paradigms and optimization techniques.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop autonomous AI Agents capable of multi-step reasoning and tool execution to automate complex manufacturing workflows.
• Implement Agentic frameworks to orchestrate LLM interactions with internal APIs, databases, and software tools.
• Build and maintain agent evaluation harnesses to benchmark accuracy and task success across complex workflows.
• Analyze and profile agent and inference workloads to identify bottlenecks using profiling tools.
• Implement interoperable multi-agent systems using A2A protocol and MCP, including tools and plugins.
• Create/maintain CI/CD pipelines for deploying AI Agents to Kubernetes and cloud environments.
• Design and implement security controls for autonomous AI Agents, including sandboxing and prompt-injection mitigation.
• Mentor engineers on agentic system design paradigms and optimization techniques.
