Job summary

Dana Corp is seeking a Weld Engineer to design, implement, and optimize welding processes in an automotive manufacturing environment. The role focuses on improving product quality, throughput, and cost efficiency while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will lead process qualification, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product launches and tooling development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of applicable experience.
• 3+ years of experience.
• Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing systems, process engineering, and industrial automation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical expert for all welding operations within the facility, including MIG Welding, Friction Welding, and Resistance Welding.
• Develop, implement, monitor, and continuously improve welding processes to ensure product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
• Lead and complete the annual AIAG CQI-15 Welding System Assessment and maintain compliance with standards.
• Establish, validate, and maintain welding parameters, control plans, and process documentation.
• Provide hands-on technical support to resolve welding issues and minimize downtime.
• Drive Lean and continuous improvement to reduce waste and costs.
• Analyze welding data and metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Maintenance on new product launches.
