Job summary

DARCARS of Silver Spring is currently hiring an Automotive Valet to support vehicle flow and customer satisfaction at our dealership. This role requires strong customer service skills and the ability to direct customers to parking or vehicle retrieval while assisting with service write-up and tagging of vehicles.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
• Strong communication skills with customers and employees
• Commitment to customer service
• High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Must be at least eighteen years old
• Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions and policy documents
• Ability to stand, bend, twist for long periods in varying weather
• Capacity to lift at least 30 lbs
• Detailing experience is a plus
• Ability to operate manual vehicles is a plus

Responsibilities

• Greets customers with a smile and directs them to parking or vehicle retrieval
• Assists with service write-up and tagging of customer vehicles
• Supports efficient vehicle flow within the dealership as tickets are generated
• Moves client vehicles between shop and service areas as needed
• Provides shuttle service to customers when requested
• Reports safety or policy concerns to management
• Maintains clean and dry service area and handles waste
• Cleans driveway and walkways, removing debris as needed
• Follows dealership policies and performs other duties as assigned

For this role, you'll need:

• Valid driver’s license and acceptable, safe driving record

• Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with customers
• Requires the ability to bend, twist, and stand for long periods of time in various weather conditions
• Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs
• Detailing experience is a plus
• Ability to operate manual vehicles is a plus

In this role, you'll:

• Conducts business in a professional and ethical manner
• Greets every customer with a smile
• Directs customers to their desired destinations when parking or retrieving their vehicles
• Assists with service write-up and tagging of customer vehicles
• Assists with efficient vehicle flow within dealership as service tickets are generated
• Assists Advisors and Technicians by moving client vehiclesto and from the shop andanything else they may need to complete the service visit
• Provides shuttle service to customers, when requested
• Reports to management any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its employees or customers
• Maintains cleanliness of service area, keeping floor clean and dry, as necessary
• Responsible for garbage removal
• Cleans driveway and walkways, removing debris, ice, and snow, as necessary
• Complies with DARCARS policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned
