Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group in Denton, TX seeks a Systems Integration Test Bench Engineer to support operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Connected Services test benches used for vehicle integration and validation.

This role blends hands-on automotive electronics with laboratory operations, test infrastructure ownership, and system integration across multiple projects and global teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Automotive Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years in automotive electronics, systems integration, or lab operations.
• Experience with CAN/CAN-FD, SAE J1939, and vehicle networks.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain, and upgrade automotive system integration test benches.
• Support Connected Services, telematics, OTA, and vehicle integration testing.
• Maintain approximately 12 test benches with current hardware and software configurations.
• Create wiring diagrams, harness documentation, and bench configurations.
• Configure and support engineering workstations, remote access systems, and testing infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve vehicle communication and integration issues utilizing CAN, CAN-FD, UDS, and J1939 protocols.
• Utilize Vector tools CANoe, CANalyzer, and CANape for diagnostics, analysis, and validation.
• Support ECU flashing, software updates, calibration, and validation efforts.
• Reproduce and investigate customer-reported and vehicle system issues.
• Manage test bench scheduling, allocation, and utilization across multiple engineering teams.
• Maintain inventory and asset records for ECUs, harnesses, sensors, modems, and lab equipment.
• Coordinate procurement activities and support inventory audits.
• Develop bench build guides, troubleshooting procedures, and technical documentation.
• Standardize hardware and software configurations across test bench environments.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on test bench reliability, efficiency, and laboratory operations.
• Provide regular updates regarding bench health, utilization, maintenance activities, and project allocations.
