Job summary

AutoNation is hiring an automotive technician to service and repair vehicles at our dealership network. You will stay current with diagnostic methods, follow repair orders, and work with factory standards.

The role includes training programs, safety protocols, and opportunities for advancement. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, and ASE certification or equivalent; experience with manual transmissions is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
• General mechanical skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
• Manual dexterity and ability to operate tools safely.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• ASE certification or completion of pre-employment test preferred.
• Knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Stay current in diagnostic methods and service techniques.
• Perform repair orders with efficiency and accuracy per standards.
• Follow factory and dealership procedures for warranty work.
• Participate in service technician training programs.
• Record cause of failure and describe work performed on orders.
• Communicate with service manager/team to confirm repair info.
• Request parts from the parts department as necessary.
• Follow safety procedures to avoid fumes, dirt and chemicals.
