City of Peoria, AZ is seeking a skilled Fleet Maintenance technician to service a wide range of municipal vehicles and equipment. The role involves preventive maintenance and repairs on gasoline and diesel machines, from light vehicles to aerial trucks.

The ideal candidate has a solid repair background, welding/fabrication skills, and a drive to grow technical abilities within a team. Valid CDL and ASE certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2-4 years’ experience in fleet or heavy equipment repair.
• Valid AZ Class B CDL within 6 months of hire; ASE certs or ability to obtain within 1 year.

Responsabilités

• Perform preventive maintenance and repair on gasoline and diesel equipment.
• Service light and heavy-duty vehicles, construction equipment and aerial trucks.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, air conditioning and powertrain systems.

Minimum Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalency.

Experience

• 2-4 years’ experience. Considerable previous experience required in the same or similar previous positions.

Physical Demands

• Work requires heavy physical exertion and effort.

Licenses And Certifications

• Valid Arizona Class “B” Driver’s License within 6 months of hire.
• Possession of 4 Automotive Service Excellence (A.S.E.) Certificates, or ability to obtain within 1 year after hire.

Join the Fleet Maintenance team as they provide vital support to Public Works, Police Department, Water Services, and numerous other divisions. This position involves performing preventive maintenance and repair on a variety of gasoline and diesel powered equipment; including light and heavy-duty vehicles, construction and maintenance equipment, and aerial trucks. This includes the diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, air conditioning, and powertrain systems or components.

The Ideal Candidate For This Position Will Have

• A solid automotive or heavy-duty equipment repair background.
• Welding and/or fabrication experience.
• A desire to further one’s technical skills in a team learning environment and work on a variety of equipment.
