Job summary

The City of Peoria is seeking an Automotive Technician I to perform preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on a range of automotive and heavy equipment in the Fleet Division.

Responsibilities include routine maintenance, minor mechanical repairs, and ensuring the City’s fleet operates safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate has a background in automotive maintenance and a commitment to quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Background in automotive maintenance
• Solid light or heavy-duty equipment maintenance/repair background
• Ability to balance productivity with high quality of work

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on various vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Carry out routine maintenance and minor mechanical repairs as needed to keep the fleet safe and efficient.
• Work with a team to handle a variety of equipment and maintain high workmanship standards.
