Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalency.
• 2-4 years of experience; considerable prior experience in similar roles.
• Valid Arizona Class B driver’s license within 6 months of hire.
• Possession of 4 ASE Certificates or ability to obtain within 1 year after hire.
• Heavy physical exertion may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repair on gasoline and diesel equipment.
• Work on light and heavy‑duty vehicles, construction and maintenance equipment, and aerial trucks.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, air conditioning, and powertrain systems.

Department: Public Works Minimum Requirements: Education: High school graduation or equivalency. Experience: 2-4 years' experience. Considerable previous experience required in the same or similar previous positions. Physical Demands: Work requires heavy physical exertion and effort. Licenses and Certifications: Valid Arizona Class "B" Driver's License within 6 months of hire. Possession of 4 Automotive Service Excellence (A.S.E.) Certificates, or ability to obtain within 1 year after hire.

Join the Fleet Maintenance team as they provide vital support to Public Works, Police Department, Water Services, and numerous other divisions.

This position involves performing preventive maintenance and repair on a variety of gasoline and diesel powered equipment; including light and heavy-duty vehicles, construction and maintenance equipment, and aerial trucks.

This includes the diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, air conditioning, and powertrain systems or components.

The ideal candidate for this position will have: A solid automotive or heavy-duty equipment repair background. Welding and/or fabrication experience. A desire to further one's technical skills in a team learning environment and work on a variety of equipment.
