Job summary

City of Peoria is seeking an Automotive Technician I in the Fleet Division to perform preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of automotive and heavy equipment at the Municipal Operations Center in Peoria, AZ.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, 1–2 years of automotive maintenance experience, a valid Arizona Class B license within 6 months, and ASE certifications within a year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• 1–2 years of automotive maintenance experience preferred.
• Valid Arizona Class B driver license within 6 months of hire.
• Possession of 2 ASE Certificates within 1 year after hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Conduct inspections, diagnostics, and repairs.
• Work on equipment including fire pumpers and aerial trucks when assigned.
• Complete related tasks to ensure the City’s fleet operates safely and efficiently.
