Job summary

City of Peoria’s Fleet Maintenance team maintains a wide range of gasoline and diesel powered equipment, from light vehicles to aerial trucks. The role involves preventive maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulic, air conditioning, and powertrain systems.

Ideal candidates have a solid automotive or heavy-duty repair background, welding/fabrication experience, and a drive to grow technical skills in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalency.
• 2-4 years’ experience in the same or similar positions.
• Valid Arizona Class B Driver’s License within 6 months of hire.
• Possession of 4 ASE Certificates, or ability to obtain within 1 year after hire.
• Solid automotive or heavy-duty equipment repair background.
• Welding and/or fabrication experience.
• Desire to further technical skills in a team learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repair on a variety of gasoline and diesel powered equipment.
• Repair light and heavy-duty vehicles, construction and maintenance equipment, and aerial trucks.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, air conditioning, and powertrain systems or components.

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

Experience:

• 2-4 years’ experience. Considerable previous experience required in the same or similar previous positions.
