Job summary

The City of Peoria is seeking an Automotive Technician II to join the Fleet Maintenance team at the Municipal Operations Center in Peoria, AZ. This onsite role focuses on preventive maintenance and repair across a range of gasoline and diesel equipment, including trucks and aerial platforms.

Ideal candidates will have 2–4 years of related experience, a valid AZ Class B license within 6 months, and 4 ASE certificates or the ability to obtain them within a year.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalency.
• 2–4 years’ experience; considerable prior experience in similar roles.
• Valid Arizona Class “B” Driver’s License within 6 months of hire.
• Possession of 4 ASE Certificates, or ability to obtain within 1 year after hire.
• Physical demands include heavy exertion.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repair on gasoline and diesel powered equipment.
• Service light and heavy‑duty vehicles, construction and maintenance equipment, and aerial trucks.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, air conditioning, and powertrain systems or components.
• Join the Fleet Maintenance team to support Public Works, Police, Water Services, and other divisions.
