Job summary

The City of Peoria is seeking a Transportation Technician I for the Streets Division's Signs and Striping Unit. The role involves maintaining over 24,000 traffic signs and contributing to the annual long-line striping program across 800 miles, while working outdoors and meeting physical requirements.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, up to one year of related experience, and a valid Arizona CDL with Tanker endorsement within six months of hire.

• Assist in traffic sign fabrication and installation as needed.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and meet physical demands of the role.

Transportation Technician I Position Overview

The City of Peoria's Streets Division is looking for hard working individuals to fill the Transportation Technician I position in the Signs and Striping Unit. The successful candidate will join a team that places over 800 miles of long-line striping a year, and maintains over 24,000 traffic signs. Experience with traffic maintenance to include striping, traffic sign fabrication, or sign installation is a plus. This labor-intensive position will need someone who enjoys working outdoors, and can meet the physical demands listed in our job description.

• A passion for working outdoors in the elements.
• Working knowledge of basic and advanced construction practices.
• Great attitude and the ability to work within a team structure, and perform solo tasks as required.
• Valid Arizona Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Tanker endorsement.
