Job summary

Pep Boys in New York is seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to professionally inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services while delivering an excellent customer experience. A successful Technician will also train and mentor coworkers and maintain a clean, safe work area.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 1+ year of hands-on repair experience, ASE certifications (A4/A5) preferred, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of automotive repair experience.
• 2+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 steering & suspension; A5 brakes).
• Section 609 certification preferred; state inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications—brake, hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment.
• Explain diagnoses and repairs to customers and teammates clearly.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment.
• Assist other technicians and participate in training and mentoring.
• Adhere to company policies and safety/environmental rules.
