Job summary

The Pep Boys Manny Moe & Jack LLC is seeking a Technician to professionally inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services while delivering an excellent customer experience.

The role requires explaining technical diagnoses to customers and coworkers, continuously learning new automotive techniques, mentoring others, and maintaining a clean, safe work area. Must be available days, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• A minimum of 1 year automotive diagnostic, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 2+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension, A5 Brakes).
• Section 609 certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver's license and customer-focused attitude.
• Successfully pass pre-employment background check.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair brakes, hydraulics, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment per specifications.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical customers and staff.
• Continuously learn new automotive technologies through formal training.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Keep management informed of repair issues as they occur.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe shop.
• Adhere to company policies, safety and environmental rules.
