Job summary

The Pep Boys Manny Moe & Jack LLC in Edgemont, AL is seeking an automotive Technician to inspect, diagnose and repair tire and vehicle systems while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

You will explain findings to customers and coworkers, stay updated with evolving automotive technology, and help train junior technicians. The role requires at least 1 year of hands-on experience, a valid driver’s license, and flexibility for variable shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of automotive diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 2+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering & Suspension, A5 Brakes).
• Section 609 certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Must have a valid driver's license and pass background check.
• Flexible to work days, nights, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brakes, hydraulics, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment.
• Perform duties of lower roles (Mechanic, General Service Technician).
• Explain diagnoses and repairs to non-mechanics as needed.
• Continuously learn and train in new automotive techniques.
• Assist other technicians and keep management informed of repair issues.
• Maintain an organized, safe shop and adhere to company policies and safety rules.
