Job summary

Auto Plus in Houston, TX seeks a Technician to inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services while delivering top-notch customer experience. You will explain technical diagnoses to customers and colleagues, and continually learn new automotive technologies to stay current.

The role involves mentoring coworkers, maintaining a clean, safe shop, and adhering to safety policies. Availability for days, nights, holidays, and weekends is required, with potential ASE and other certifications

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year of automotive diagnostic, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 2+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension, A5 Brakes).
• 609 certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Pre-employment background check required.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications – brakes, hydraulics, exhaust, basic electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment.
• Perform duties of Mechanic and General Service Technician.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and staff as needed.
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Keep management informed of repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop.
• Adhere to all company policies and safety/environmental rules.
