Job summary

Pep Boys Inc. is seeking a skilled Technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair tire and automotive services while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

You will explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and coworkers, and continuously update your knowledge of automotive technology. Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED, 1+ year hands-on repair experience, and ASE certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• At least 1 year of automotive diagnostic and repair experience.
• 2 or more ASE certifications are preferred (A4, A5).
• 609 certification preferred; state inspection license optional.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and pass background check.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications including brakes, hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment.
• Perform maintenance services and support lower-level technicians as needed.
• Explain diagnoses and repairs clearly to customers and teammates.
• Continuously learn new automotive techniques through formal training.
• Maintain an organized, safe, and clean shop environment.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures and safety rules.
