Job summary

Pep Boys Inc. is seeking an Automotive Technician to professionally inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services while delivering excellent customer experiences.

You will explain technical diagnoses to customers and coworkers, and continually learn new techniques to stay updated with evolving automotive technology. You will train and mentor teammates, maintain a clean, safe shop, and adhere to all company policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem solving and repair experience.
• 2+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension & A5 Brakes).
• Section 609 certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brakes, hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension, and alignment.
• Perform duties of Mechanic and General Service Technician as needed.
• Explain diagnoses and repairs to non-mechanical coworkers and customers.
• Continuously learn new automotive techniques in formal training.
• Assist fellow technicians in technical activities.
• Keep management informed of repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and safe shop and adhere to policies.
