Job summary

Pep Boys in Daytona Beach, FL is seeking a skilled Technician to inspect, diagnose and repair automotive systems while delivering excellent customer service. You will explain findings to customers and coworkers, stay updated with evolving auto tech, and mentor junior staff in a fast-paced shop environment.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, 1+ year of diagnostic/repair experience, ASE certifications preferred, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of automotive diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 2+ ASE certifications (A4 Steering and Suspension, A5 Brakes) preferred.
• Section 609 certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver's license and pre-employment background check required.
• Willingness to work days, nights, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications – brake/hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension, alignment and maintenance.
• Perform duties of all lower roles (Mechanic and General Service Technician).
• Explain diagnoses and repairs to non-mechanical staff and customers as needed.
• Continuously learn new automotive tech information in formal trainings.
• Assist fellow technicians in technical activities.
• Keep management informed of mechanical repair issues as they occur.
• Maintain an organized, neat shop and adhere to safety rules.
