Job description

Position Summary

A Technician must professionally inspect, diagnose, and repair tire and automotive services while delivering an excellent customer experience. They must explain technical diagnoses and necessary repairs to co-workers and customers. A Technician is expected to continuously learn new technical information and techniques to stay updated with rapidly changing automotive technology and perform work according to specifications. A successful Technician will also train and mentor co-workers and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair to specifications—including brake and hydraulic systems, exhaust, basic electrical, cooling systems, suspension, and alignment; perform all maintenance services.
  • Perform duties of all lower job descriptions (Mechanic and General Service Technician).
  • Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs clearly to non-mechanical individuals, including employees and customers, as needed.
  • Continuously update technical knowledge through formal training sessions to keep pace with evolving automotive technology.
  • Assist fellow technicians and mechanics in technical tasks.
  • Inform store management of mechanical repair issues as they arise.
  • Maintain an organized and clean shop environment.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, safety, and environmental regulations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of solid automotive diagnosis, problem-solving, and repair experience.
  • Two or more ASE certifications are preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension, A5 Brakes).
  • Section 609 certification is preferred.
  • State Inspection license, if applicable.
  • High motivation, energy, and a customer-focused attitude.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background check.
  • Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.
