Job summary

Capitol GMC in San Jose, CA is seeking an Automotive Technician to inspect and repair vehicles, while delivering a world-class service experience. You will diagnose malfunctions, perform multi-point inspections, and stay up-to-date with industry best practices through ongoing training.

You will work closely with Service Advisors, communicate findings to customers, and handle repair orders efficiently. Valid driver’s license and insurable record required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of automotive diagnosis and problem-solving experience.
• ASE Certifications are a plus.
• X-Time/CDK experience is a plus.
• DMV Check required.
• Willingness to participate in in-house training.
• Ability to operate all auto repair tools
• Knowledge of diagnostic tools and equipment a must

Responsibilities

• Diagnose the cause of malfunctions and perform repairs with accuracy.
• Perform multi-point inspections on every vehicle.
• Maintain knowledge of current industry repair best practices.
• Test-drive vehicles and components using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
• Learn new technical information to stay proficient in automotive diagnosis and repair.
• Maintain legible paperwork for customers and records.
• Communicate with Service Advisors to inform customers of additional services.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, A/C.
• Complete work on repair orders per dealership policies and procedures.

What you'll be working on:

• Diagnose the cause of any malfunction and performing appropriate repairs with accuracy and efficiency
• Perform multi-point inspections on every vehicle
• Maintain a working knowledge of current industry best practices in automotive repair
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Learn new technical information and techniques to stay proficient in automotive diagnosis and repair
• Maintain legible and accurate paperwork for both the customer and for our records
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisors so customers are well-informed of any additional services needed
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership policies and procedures

What you need to bring to the table:

• 1+ years of automotive diagnosis and problem-solving experience
• ASE Certifications are a plus
• X-Time/CDK experience is a plus
• DMV Check required
• Willingness to participate in in-house training
• Ability to operate all auto repair tools
• Knowledge of diagnostic tools and equipment a must

***You must have a valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record.

Salary: $33.00-$90.00/hour

*Pay is based on applicable experience and skills.
