Job summary

Pacific Nissan Inc. in Waipahu, HI is seeking an Automotive Technician (all levels) to support the Service Department. You will perform repairs per the Repair Order, following dealership and factory standards, and road test when required.

Role requires strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, plus a valid driver’s license. ASE certs are preferred, and ongoing factory/dealership training is expected to stay current.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Repair work as outlined in the Repair Order, following dealer and factory standards.
  • Communicate repair status with Service Advisor and parts department; flag changes as needed.
  • Document all work performed and recommendations on the repair order.
  • Maintain current in mandated factory and dealership training.
  • Keep personal and shop tools and equipment organized and functional.

Job Description

Job Title: Technician (All levels) Department: Service Reports to: Service Manager Effective Date: 3/30/23

Responsible for supporting the company’s Vision: “Best place to work & Best place for our guests to do business” and Mission: “Build long term relationships with our associates & guests & make a positive difference in our community”.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Repair Work- Performs work as outlined in the Repair Order with efficiency and accuracy and in accordance with dealership and factory standards. Road test vehicles when required or refers to the test technician.
  • Communication- Communicates with Service Advisor about the status of the repair, to include additional work if needed. Must also communicate with the parts department regarding parts for the repair. Advises Service Advisor if repair work results in a change in the vehicle appearance or condition.
  • Documentation – Must document all work done and recommended on the repair order
  • Training- Must be current in all mandated factory and dealership training.
  • Tools and equipment – Must maintain both personal and company tools and equipment.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent and 1-2 years of related experience.
Physical Requirements

Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and distance vision.
