Job summary

Promotive in Columbus, OH is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician (A/B Level) for a high‑volume independent repair shop. The role offers flat-rate pay with a per-hour flag and a Monday–Friday schedule, no weekends, in a shop servicing domestic, Asian, and European vehicles.

Compensation ranges from $28 to $55 per flagged hour based on level and experience. Benefits include paid time off, 401(k) match, and training opportunities to advance diagnostic skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional automotive repair experience for B-Level candidates.
• 5+ years of professional automotive repair experience for A-Level candidates.
• Strong mechanical repair skills and experience performing general automotive repairs.
• A-Level candidates should have strong automotive diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, and repair a variety of domestic, Asian, and European vehicles.
• Perform general automotive repairs, including brakes, steering and suspension, engine repairs, HVAC, and maintenance.
• Perform automotive diagnostics and electrical troubleshooting based on demonstrated skill level.
• Complete mechanical remove-and-replace repairs efficiently and accurately.
• Use Bosch, Autel, Snap-on, and other diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle concerns.
• Complete digital vehicle inspections and document repair findings using Tekmetric.
• Work efficiently toward an expected production level of 40+ billed hours.
• Collaborate with technicians and Service Advisors to support an efficient shop workflow.
