Job summary

Foss Motors in Exeter, NH seeks an experienced Automotive Technician to join our fast-paced, family-owned shop. You will diagnose, repair, and test vehicles to dealership standards using diagnostic tools and specialized service equipment.

We emphasize ongoing training, teamwork, and delivering high-quality service. ASE certification and a solid automotive background are preferred, along with a clean driver’s license and the ability to learn new technology.

Qualifications

• ASE certification required or equivalent preferred.
• Solid understanding of automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and AC.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Service Advisors and customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
• Test-drive vehicles and diagnose components/systems using diagnostic tools and service equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair automotive systems (engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, A/C).
• Communicate with Service Advisor regarding additional needed work and time estimates.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

REQUIREMENTS:

• ASE certified
• Strong automotive background
• Strong teamwork skills
• Ability to identify problems quickly
• Good knowledge of automobiles
• Effective analytical and communication skills
• Good reading, computer, and mathematics skills
• Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications
• Should be able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
• Willing to submit to a drug screen& background check
• Must have clean & valid driver's license
