Job summary

Planet Honda in Union, NJ is seeking qualified Class B and C automotive technicians for a full-time, flat-rate position. Pay ranges from $25.00 to $40.00 per hour, based on experience.

Candidates should have 2–5 years in a dealership or private shop, ASE and manufacturer certifications, and experience with scan tools and service information systems. Responsibilities include completing repair orders efficiently, diagnosing faults, road-testing vehicles, and recording work done.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in a dealership or private shop.
• Up-to-date ASE and manufacturer certifications.
• Experience using scan tools and service information systems.
• Ability to independently perform brake, suspension and steering repairs.
• Proficient in engine maintenance and basic electrical diagnostics.
• Acceptable driving record and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with Lithia and manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose cause of malfunction and complete all work according to the applicable safety requirements.
• Road-test vehicles to ensure quality of repair work.
• Document work performed on repair order, record test procedures/results & time, per company recording & clocking procedures.
• Responsible for providing and maintaining an inventory of normal mechanics tools.

Who We're Looking For:

• Class B and/or C level technicians with 2-5 years of experience in a dealership or private shop


• Up-to-date ASE and manufacturer certifications


• Experience using scan tools and service information systems

Total Rewards

The flat rate range for this position is $25.00 to $40.00. This is a flat rate position that is also eligible for short-term and/or long-term incentives as part of total compensation, which includes bonuses based on production/productivity.

Actual pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and physical location. Final compensation will be established through the interview process in accordance with applicable pay equity and transparency laws.
